Hello again

Well its nearly the last day of February 2012 and I am back again.  As Purls of Colour said on Facebook today, we need the arms of an octopus to get to do everything - knit, sew, read, email, twitter, facebook, designing, eating, housework etc. the list is endless.

So I will try to fit in a wee note every week on whats happening in my world.

So far this year I have brought the brand new Confident and Classy Book bag to my Etsy shop and from 1 March next they will be on sale in Fondelifair Craft shop in Ennistymon, Co Clare.  http://ennistymon.fondelifair.com/
This bag is Made to Order.  Check out the etsy listing for other options on the cover image.

There are other fabrics also available including this amazing Japanese print
So if you are interested why not have a look at my Etsy site, call in to the shop in Ennistymon from next weekend or just get in touch.

Other items on sale in Fondelifair will be some of my Tiny Chuus for new born babies and complimentary greeting cards, a wide selection of trimmings including bamboo knitting needles, buttons, beads, bows etc.

Brand new for March ( going up on my Etsy site on Thursday) are my Cozi Tozies - 100% Irish wool and Alpaca house slippers.  These too are Made to Order so keep an eye out for them later in the week.

So thats it for now.
Hope to be back with you soon

cheers

Good Friday..... Great Friday

Happy Easter Another interesting week here in Dublin
The photo above was taken on Monday of the floor in Christ Church Cathedral - such an amazing building you really should take a half hour out and visit it the next time you get to Dublin.

We have been so lucky weatherwise here in Ireland in the last week - sunshine and cherry blossom at every turn.  Forcast is good for the next few days so I hope you all have a great Easter break wherever you are.

Today, Good Friday, I am honoured to be listed as the seller of the day on the Etsy Ireland Facebook page....details here... ETSY FACEBOOK  Etsy Ireland is made up of over 300 crafters from all over the country and beyond.  Check out our blog page for links to some amazing creations and enjoy.  BLOG

Thats about it for now - I will be spending some time over the next few months working on my faithful spinning wheel experimenting with some lovely fleeces I have gathered over the last year from great shops on ETSY.  I will be posting the results later in the Summer.

Cheers for now

Where does the time go...

I started the year with the greatest of intentions of updating my blog regularly, and fell at the first fence.
No excuses but life and love and the pursuit of happiness, or so the saying goes.

Its now April and the week before Easter.  Daffodils are nearly finished their Spring dance and cherry blossom is being sprinkled all over the lawn with the help of the fresh breezes and April showers.

Since the new year I have dabbled in a few different crafting areas.  The "knit" greeting cards are taking off - mainly for new babies - which I am glad to see will be a continuing trend.  (Loads of friends have friends with new babies on the way.

I followed in March with a collection of small stylish Shawlettes of various colours and textures.

And here we are in April.  I am brancing out into baby wear with the introduction of my Tiny Chuus - wee knit baby t-bar booties for the discerning young giggler about town.......
from wee gift sets which have Tiny Chuus and socks in a gift box

to multi coloured Tiny Chuus gift wrapped and ready to mail.

So for the time being I guess I will be concentrating on the little people and their wee tootsies.  If you get to read this I would love to hear from you.

Thats about it for now.
Wherever you are I hope you keep well.
Cheers

P.S.  I do a weekly Craft News article for the Etsy Ireland team..... check out their blog here....ETSYIRELAND

New Year - New Beginnings

2010 was such an amazing year - I finally took my courage in hand and applied for early retirement.  I left behind an Admin job that was layering my life with so much stress that my poor husband was considering emigrating to somewhere warm and calm......

So I took the jump and have spent the end of 2010 exploring crafting avenues and trying out markets, spinning wool, teaching knitting and so on and so on.  It was a great year.

My early plans for 2011 were somewhat scuppered when I was hit with a virus on my computer ( part of which had all sorts of strange emails going to all the contacts in my email account)..... nasty.  Still,  it was obviously meant to be part of my learning curve as it showed me that I could live for 10 days without the need to check my emails every hour or spend long evenings drooling over yarns and fleeces that could be turned into wonderful creations in my imagination.

So I promise to add items and updates as often as I can over the year as I continue my journey along the crafting highway.

My first artistic step this year starts on Monday next.  I will be going to Trinity College for a series of lectures on Art in Ireland - Making and Meaning.  I am really looking forward to this and who knows where it will lead.
cheers
